Stosur wins first match in the white group

Samantha Stosur won her first match yesterday against Maria Sharapova who has had a competitive break recently due to an ankle injury.  She won 6-1, 7-5 as Sharapova was not playing at her best, but the US Open Champion, Stosur was able to take advantage of that with some great serving, which could give her the much needed confidence to win the group.  However after Sharapova’s loss, she should still be able to bounce back quickly and still get through the group stages.
